Orientation
What will happen when I first arrive at Milton College?
- You should arrive at Milton College at 8.30am on Monday morning on your first day.
- You will be greeted by the receptionist, or a member of the office staff who will give you some information about the school and forms to complete.
- For all students, at 9am you will be welcomed by our Director of Studies. Following this, one of our staff will explain to you the rules and regulations of the school and give you general information about what to expect during your studies at Milton.
- A placement test will be conducted, comprising grammar, listening, reading comprehension and a short written component, so that we can ascertain your English level and place you in the appropriate class.
- Each student has a one-to-one interview with the Director of Studies, where students can ask questions that they may have and will be shown which classroom they will be in and introduced to their teacher.
- You will then break for morning tea to give you a chance to meet some of your fellow students and make some new friends.
- Students who will enter IELTS classes are given a brief introduction to the Milton IELTS Program. This includes an outline of the weekly program and an introduction to the ways in which students can make the best of their study time.
- Students will be given the option to join the class after the lunch break or may choose to come back and start their class on the following day, on Tuesday at 9am.
